Hi
I’m looking at purchasing an engagement ring online and will likely be using Blue Nile UK to do so.
I’m a little anxious about purchasing something worth potentially in excess of £10k without first having seen it in person.
Can I send you a link to the diamond I am considering and you give me your thoughts on whether it is good value/if there are potentially better options I could be going for? The intended setting will be a pavé.
Feel free to send me a link to the diamond you’re considering, I’d be more than happy to review it and give you my feedback.
The diamond I am considering is this one: Blue Nile LD14365661
Blue Nile LD14365661
This diamond looks great on paper, but I’m not a huge fan of the bow-tie. It’s quite obvious and it’s better to choose a diamond where this characteristic is as subtle as possible.
Here are two examples of diamonds that would be much better choices:
Blue Nile LD13980678
Blue Nile LD13541944
Color-wise, they would look identical (the difference in colors isn’t usually recognizable from anything above an H grade). They are very well cut and look great both on paper and in the video.
I see what you mean about the bow tie effect of the one I chose vs the two you’ve suggested – thanks.
I personally think the 1.51ct diamond (second link you sent) is the best of the three – do you agree?
The 1.51ct is beautiful and the quality is top-notch (even though both stones I suggested were excellent choices, it doesn’t mean that the 1.50ct is worse, they would look the same in real life).
I did end up purchasing the 1.51ct diamond and it came in the mail today – it looks amazing!
That’s fantastic news! Thank you for the feedback, I’m glad you are happy with the ring.
