Hi Diamond Pro Team!
I’m looking for a diamond engagement ring for my soon to be fiancee! I came across your website as I was doing my extensive research, and quickly realized some help would be needed in making this decision. I’ve listed some information below that should be helpful in this process:
Budget (Diamond + Setting): $8k-$10k
Cut: Round
Setting Style: 3 Stone Tapered Baguette , preferably lower sitting setting with thin band, 6 prongs (this seems to be hard to find)
I look forward to hearing from you!
You are right that finding a baguette setting with 6 prongs is not an easy job. The following rings are the closest I found so I suggest you ask the companies whether they’d be able to create them with 6 prongs (theoretically, James Allen should be able to do that since they have a 6-prong setting for emerald cuts):
Tapered Baguette Diamond Engagement Ring 14k White Gold (1/6 ct. tw.)
Tapered Baguette Diamond Engagement Ring 14k White Gold
14K White Gold Tapered Baguette Diamond Engagement Ring
Let me know what they say and then we can start searching for the perfect center stone to pair the ring with.
Thanks for reaching out and taking the time to send me some information. I made a mistake regarding the 6 prongs, turns out she prefers just 4. Looking at what you sent me, I liked the second one from Blue Nile and the one from James Allen, as they appear to maybe sit lower. I’d love to get your thoughts on these as well, and I’m excited to begin the process of picking out a center stone.
Great! The setting is a matter of personal taste and style so if you like those two designs, there’s no reason to go with anything else.
As for the center piece, I found a couple of beautiful options:

They are fantastically cut and all of them would be very bright and brilliant in real life.
I went and tried to look at the diamonds you suggested, but unfortunately they are no longer available. Can you send me some more options to choose from? Quick question, if I like the setting better from James Allen, does it make sense to go with them for the diamond as well?
It’s always easier to buy both the setting and the loose diamond from the same vendor. They’ll set it for you and you’ll receive a complete ring.
Here’s a couple of new options:

They check all the boxes.
Thanks! They both look beautiful. I noticed on the 1.30 carat diamond it had medium fluorescence. Depending on who you talk to, this can either be a good or a bad thing, and wanted to get your opinion as well.
Medium fluorescence is a bit of a bonus on an I color, it can help the diamond look a tad whiter. I wouldn’t worry about any haziness. As long as you avoid strong fluorescence, it’s fine. https://www.diamonds.pro/diamond-fluorescence/
I think I want to go with the 1.30 carat from James Allen. I think it will look fantastic in that tapered baguette setting.
I think so too!
Thanks again for all your help.
It was my pleasure helping you.
